The proposed NXT name that will replace the ECW brand is already being used as a wrestling promotion across the pond in the United Kingdom.

NXT Wrestling made its debut in January 2007 working in conjunction with Area 52 Wrestling School according to their website at NXTWrestling.com. The promotion is based in Scotland and is affiliated with NWA-UK: Hammerlock.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds as WWE only applied for rights for the name last month and if the UK promotion has proper trademark documents it could be difficult when it comes to broadcasting the show in the UK.

Last time WWE went to court in England to fight they lost, big, and were forced to change their name from World Wrestling Federation to World Wrestling Entertainment to refrain from using the WWF acronym.
