Interesting to note is that it was him who introduced her to wrestling the first time, getting front row seats to a show in Orlando when they were just kids. However after she was sucked into the business, all the tours ended up destroying their marriage and the two agreed that a divorce was the best way to go. Daus said he met Nancy face to face for the first time since they split nine years ago while in a plane heading out of Chicago. He said the two talked for around four hours and the last time they communicated by e-mail was seven years ago when Chris' and Nancy's son Daniel was born. Daus added that he couldn't sleep for the first three days after news came out that Nancy was murdered by her husband. "I pushed her into this whole thing," he said, reflecting on the time he took her to the first wrestling match in Orlando back when they were still kids.
