- MyNetworkTV issued a press release today announcing the debut of WWE on their network starting on October 2nd at 8PM with the 'WrestleMania XXIV: The World Television Premiere' event and then the next day the network premiere event of Friday Night Smackdown! The press release contained the matches announced for Friday's broadcast which were revealed in yesterday's newsletter. The special WrestleMania show will be "an innovative presentation combining the high impact action of the WWE scored to music from some of the industry’s biggest stars including U2, Metallica, Three Doors Down, Three 6 Mafia, and Kid Rock," according to the statement. MyNetworkTV won the rights for Smackdown! in late February of this year after WWE announced that their relationship with the CW Network will be over by the Fall of 2008. The last episode of Smackdown! on CW aired last Friday.
