- TV Week is reporting that according to multiple sources that have knowledge of negotiations, MyNetworkTV and Superstation WGN are the two bids that WWE is looking at for the new Smackdown! home come September. WWE announced at the beginning of this month that they would be leaving CW Network after the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. MyNetworkTV includes a number of television stations that originally aired Smackdown! back when they were part of UPN. When the network launched it mainly focused on telenovelas however a new President who got the job last year revamped the whole image of the station. Tribune Broadcasting - who own WGN - were surprise bidders according to sources and have a number of options where they can land Smackdown! although Superstation WGN is the one that makes most sense.
