WWE
MyNetworkTV President talks about Smackdown!

- TVWeek.com has an interview up with Greg Meidel, President of MyNetworkTV regarding their upcoming media event where they will present their new shows to sell advertising for the year. During the interview, TVWeek asked what does WWE bring to the table for MyNetTV. "We can’t wait to get Smackdown! on our air,' he added, noting that the show is a hit among the 18-49 male demographic that advertisers are mostly after. "This is truly an opportunity for us to take a franchise that’s proven, that works, that attracts a large audience as the dominant force every Friday night, as it did prior to that on UPN. A lot of our affiliates, including most of our MyNetworkTV O&Os, were UPN affiliates. So they’re very aware and very knowledgeable of the strength of the brand and they have been involved and partnered with them in the past," he said. "It really fits us perfectly. So we see it not only as an immediate franchise for us on Fridays but also as a promotional platform to promote what’s coming up the following week." In the interview he confirmed that Smackdown! will remain on Friday nights after rumors that it might go back to Thursdays.
