- Robert Remus - better known to all wrestling fans as Sgt Slaughter - was given the pink slip after a total of 24 years of service to the company. Slaughter was employed first in 1980 and stayed there till 1994 and then again in 1998 until his release. The WWE Hall of Famer won the WWE title once during his career, beating the Ultimate Warrior at the 1990 Royal Rumble. After his wrestling career ended, Slaughter was given the role of a road agent and made occasional appearances both in the ring and during backstage segments.
