Former WWE champion John Cena was legitimately injured last night on RAW when he tried to chase Dolph Ziggler backstage following the kissing segment.
Cena twisted his knee as soon as he exited the ring and then managed to make it all the way to the top by hopping around. His knee was then taped up and the planned backstage brawl segment with Ziggler went on as planned.
Cena underwent an MRI this morning in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as he is in town to appear at the Smackdown tapings tonight.
"MRI was typical good news bad news scenario," Cena tweeted earlier. "I've dealt with knees issues for the past few yrs, I'll add one more to that list," he said.
Despite his knee issues, he plans on being at the show tonight.
"I know the risks of what can happen to me and I'm willing to play the odds. #nevergiveup c u 2nite grand rapids."
