- John Cena's new movie '12 Rounds' begins shooting tomorrow in New Orleans, LA., as the former WWE champ will be pulling double duty for the next few weeks juggling between his wrestling appearances and filming. Joining Cena in this movie are Brian J. White, who had roles in 'The Game Plan', 'Bring It On: In It to Win It', 'Stomp The Yard' and others will be playing the role of a detective. Gonzalo Menendez, known mostly for his role as Clavo Cruz on CSI: Miami and who also appeared in Criminal Minds, 24, the movie 'The Island' and others will be playing the role of an FBI agent. Aidan Gillen, who plays the role of Councilman Thomas J. Carcetti on The Wire is also on the cast. The movie is about a detective - played by Cena - whose girlfriend is kidnapped by an evil crime lord and forces the detective to go "twelve rounds" around the streets of New Orleans. Renny Harlin - from 'Cliffhanger', 'Deep Blue Sea' and 'Die Hard 2' - is directing the movie which will be released in theaters in 2009. This is the only movie from WWE Films which is expected to get a theatrical release for the time being.
