- WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler announced that he will run for Memphis mayor if there is a special election according to MyFox Memphis.
Lawler made the surprise announcement during a radio show on KIX106 yesterday morning.
"If there is a special election for the office of mayor, Memphis, Tennessee, then Jerry Lawler will be in that election," he said.
This will be Lawler's second attempt at becoming the mayor of Memphis after his first failed attempt in 1999 where he placed third with 12% of the total votes.
