One half of the unified tag team champions, Chris Jericho, found himself on the main page of TMZ.COM after using a gay slur while participating in a Q&A session at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival a couple of weeks ago.

TMZ obtained footage of Jericho first calling the host a "Hajji" and then using the word "fag."

The term "Hajji" is a slang used mostly by American military personnel for any Arab person in Iraq and it is used in a derogatory way.

Jericho issued somewhat of an apology afterward but the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation - GLAAD - were not too pleased with Y2J using the "fag" remark.

"Just three months ago Chris Jericho's boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon acknowledged to GLAAD that words matter," a GLAAD statement said.

"There is no time, context or occasion in which it is acceptable to utter racist and anti-gay slurs. Jericho's hollow apology 'if (he) offended anyone' is a template used by many and is insincere and worn."

Meanwhile the host of the film festival told TMZ that he was deeply offended by the insensitive remarks and said that Jericho was an "a$$hole" that night. He also claimed Jericho's apology a complete fabrication.

"I don't think [Chris] has the capacity to give an honest apology. I don't think it's in his character," he told TMZ.
