Jacksonville, FL., throws in their bid to host future WrestleMania
Reported by: Colin Vassallo, on May 6, 2009 - 6:59:39 PM

- After it was revealed a few weeks ago that Tampa will be bidding to host WrestleMania between 2011 and 2014, officials from the city of Jacksonville wanted a piece of WWE as well and have thrown in their proposal to welcome the biggest pay-per-view of the year to their city.

"We know how to do these things," Mike Bouda, Jacksonville Economic Commission’s sports director told Jacksonville.com. "Big crowds don’t scare us."

The stadium which the city listed as the possible venue is the open air Municipal Stadium, home of the Jaguars which could be modified to seat 90,000 fans in a wrestling setting.

Bouda said that no prices have been negotiated for the stadium rental yet since it's very early and they still have to hear back from WWE to see what they think of the proposal.

The article which carried the story on Jacksonville.com was the third most viewed story of the day on the website among all news.
