- Current unified tag team title holder Edge is in Birmingham, AL., today to undergo surgery which will be performed by Dr James Andrews.

Edge tore his Achilles tendon the day before Independence Day at a live event in San Diego CA. Edge was starting his match against Jeff Hardy when he dropped holding his leg after doing a basic move.

EMT's and the WWE trainer rushed to the ring to help the Rated R Superstar who got on the mic and said "Sorry" to the fans before heading back to the locker room.

The injury is expected to keep Edge out of the ring for a long time and even possibly missing WrestleMania.
