- Smackdown! suffered another big blow with their Heavyweight champion as Edge will be out of action for an undetermined period of time with a torn pectoral muscle. Edge will be vacating the World title during tonight's Smackdown! tapings and a new champion will be crowned. This is almost like a curse to those who have been given the title since WrestleMania as the Undertaker also suffered an injury that forced him to lose the title only a month after winning it from Batista. It will be interesting to see who will the company choose to carry the title now as Edge, just like Undertaker, was slated for a long title reign. Whomever wins the title tonight is expected to go ahead and face Kane this Sunday at the Great American Bash.
