WWE's version of Extreme Championship Wrestling will be fading to black on February 23, 2010 after being reintroduced on television on June 13, 2006.

The revival of ECW under the WWE umbrella came after a very successful "One Night Stand" pay-per-view which the company produced in 2005, bringing back several original ECW members for the show.

After the second show a year later, a weekly ECW - which was anything but extreme - television broadcast made its debut on the then Sci Fi channel as the third WWE brand.

While the first episode got a good 2.9 rating, the show steadily declined over the years with now sometimes not even passing the 1.0 barrier.

As it stands now, no member from the original ECW is on the show.

Ever since WWE took over, there has been thirteen different ECW champions - Rob Van Dam, The Big Show, Bobby Lashley, Mr McMahon, John Morrison, CM Punk, Chavo Guerrero, Kane, Mark Henry, Matt Hardy, Jack Swagger, Christian and Tommy Dreamer.

Christian is the reigning - and probably last - ECW champion.
