- WWE writer David Lagana has been released from the company after six years on the job. Lagana replaced Paul Heyman as the lead Smackdown! writer in 2003 and then after Heyman was let go from his ECW duties, Lagana was moved to ECW to again take over the job left by Heyman in December of 2006. WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes was the other ECW writer and for now will be flying solo until a replacement is found.
