- Dave Taylor - who was part of the Smackdown! brand - was released from his contract earlier today by World Wrestling Entertainment. He was rarely used on WWE television since signing in 2006. He was originally brought in as a trainer for Deep South Wrestling but later joined forces with fellow countryman William Regal. The second cut of the day was ECW brand wrestler Balls Mahoney. Mahoney was one of the ECW originals who signed with the company in 2006 to relaunch the brand. In terms of television exposure he had more luck than Dave Taylor however he never received a decent push.
