- The next WWE Studios movie to hit theaters will be '12 Rounds', starring the current World Heavyweight champion John Cena. Cena will play the role of Detective Danny Baxter who discovers that his girlfriend, played by Ashley Scott - from the TV show Jericho - has been kidnapped by an ex-con who has ties to Cena's character's past. He then has to complete 12 challenges in order to secure her safe release. The movie was shot in New Orleans and is directed by Renny Harlin who also directed movies such as 'Die Hard 2', 'Deep Blue Sea', 'Cliffhanger' and other action movies. Mark Gordon - who worked on several episodes of 'Criminal Minds', 'Grey's Anatomy' and other TV shows - is one of the producers along with Vince McMahon. Grammy Award winner Trevor Rabin - who did 'Armageddon', 'Gone in Sixty Seconds', 'Con Air' and others - is in charge of the score. The movie is set to be released in March of this year.
