UFC has signed an important television agreement with British terrestrial television Channel FIVE and FIVE USA which puts the company's programming into 54 million homes.
Channel FIVE will air a regular program called "UFC: Main Event" which is produced exclusively for the station. It will be an hour long featuring fights from previous UFC pay-per-views. The first one will air on Monday September 13 at Midnight with fights from UFC 102.
FIVE's sister channel, FIVE USA, will air The Ultimate Fighter 10 starting on September 19 at 11PM.
"This is a huge step for the UFC in the UK. We are delighted to partner up with FIVE - who are trailblazers in their approach to both sports and programming - and bring the best bouts and the world’s greatest fighters to the largest possible audience," said UFC UK Division President Marshall Zelaznik.
Robert Charles, FIVE Head of Sport, said that the company is excited to add UFC to their portfolio and considering the impact UFC had in the UK lately it was the perfect time for FIVE to join in for the fun.
"In the UFC, the best fight the best in every single fight on every single vent and FIVE are proud to bring the very best UFC action to our viewers. Over the coming months, all the biggest names from the fastest growing sport in the world will be in action on FIVE," he said.
