The prodigal son returns!

Chris Jericho is quite possibly the best all around active wrestler in the world. Well, next to maybe Kurt Angle. This new incarnation is his best effort to date. Better than the whiner in WCW, better than the cocky face from a few years ago. And, most certainly better than “Lionheart” Chris Jericho. Yeah, name yourself after a Carebear. Way to go.

A colleague read one of my earlier columns (you know, one of the three or so I’ve written in the last 18 months…weekly column, my ass) and had to point out to me that I was so wrong about Jeff Hardy never being a World Champion. As I said to Patrick…I stand corrected.

Is anyone else entertained with Mick Foley as TNA Champ? I would much rather see a Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, or someone like that carry the “alternative”, but, Mrs. Foley’s baby boy is as entertaining, if not more, than I think I’ve seen him in…well…forever. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t like the blurring of the lines in my pro wrestling, but, whoever is booking TNA is making it at least interesting. I’d rather have my 80’s villains vs. heroes most days, but, the way TNA goes about it is somewhat realistic, and damned entertaining.

Take Eric Young. Was that a heal turn on Jarrett? Because, the way it came across on TV, it sure didn’t seem like one. And, the crowd seemed more behind Jarrett. Same goes for the Main Event Mafia vs. Whoever feud. There isn’t a real face/heal vibe to it. In some ways, it reminiscent to the NWO of the 90’s; but, only some ways.

I have a feeling Mick Foley may lose the TNA title in the King of the Mountain match, if but for no other reason than his promo on Impact. Just so you know, I watch Impact on Saturday nights, not Thursday, as the TV, and the DVR are busy on Thursday nights.

I was somewhat disappointed, but, not really surprised, at the release of Mr. Kennedy. I had the pleasure of meeting Ken prior to a Smackdown taping a couple years ago, and he’s a decent guy. I still have the cast that he signed, that was on my right arm, due to a surgery I had. Of course, I didn’t tell the guy removing it that I wanted to keep the autograph part , and it was sawed right in half, but, that’s my fault, now isn’t it?

Sorry for the rambling, I’m just letting the fingers do the walking, so to speak. See, I made a promise to our esteemed editor in chief that if he did something for me, I would write more often, so, I thought I better make at least a half assed effort. Thank again, Colin!

Well, that’ll do it for me…at least for now. Expect more unintelligible, unimportant, ramblings from me than you’ve seen in the last year and a half. Maybe I’ll start a recap rant, of sorts, for all the wrestling I watch for the week. I don’t watch ECW (even though I should, just for Christian…he’s the man!), or Superstars (previously covered), but, for the rest of what I watch, I may just share a little “fan reaction” with everyone. It sure beats sitting in front of my computer, not knowing what to ramble on about.

I’ll catch all you W-O crazies later…
