Hello, Wrestling-Online fans, and welcome to the 50th edition of Welcome to the Jumble! I can’t believe we’ve already made it to number 50! Thank you so much for not only reading my columns but also for all of the messages you’ve sent to me via email and left on my MySpace page! I appreciate it more than I can say!

So much to talk about, so little time! Let’s get right to it!

I hope those of you who either attended “WrestleMania 24” or saw it on TV enjoyed it! It seemed like a pretty good show, except for that scary accident with the pyro at the end of the night. Let’s all be thankful no one was seriously injured and pray it never happens again!

A few quick thoughts on some of the matches: I can’t believe Floyd Mayweather was allowed to get a win over The Big Show. The guy might be a good boxer but he’s a punk in the wrestling world. Then again, this is the WWE we’re talking about and it seems like non-wrestlers have a tendency to defeat wrestlers (Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow, for example). Congrats to Kane for not only winning the 24-man battle royal but for defeating Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title in 8 seconds! Let’s hope this is a nice, long reign for The Big Red Machine! Congrats also to Kane’s “half-brother” The Undertaker for his win over Edge! I think most people probably predicted Taker to win and keep the streak alive so it would not have surprised me in the least if WWE had given the win to Edge instead, but they were smart and went with the fans’ choice in Taker! Batista defeated Umaga so that means “SmackDown” is now the brand leader over “Raw,” right? Somehow I don’t think one match changes anything. “Raw” is still live every week and will continue being the dominant brand. Perhaps if “SmackDown” were to go live every week it would have a better shot of beating “Raw.” I was a little disappointed that CM Punk won “Money in the Bank” but maybe this will be just what he needs to catapult him to a Heavyweight title belt!

Randy Orton had a point last Monday night - I don’t think many people were expecting him to retain his title. Triple H seemed to be the favorite to win, but in the end it was Orton who had his hand raised in victory. So who deserves a re-match? Definitely not JBL who tried to worm his way into one. What has he done lately to deserve a title shot? Answer: Absolutely nothing! So what if he had the longest reign as champ on “SmackDown?” He was a commentator for a long while following his championship reign and hasn’t done much on “Raw” to earn a shot at all. If JBL wants a shot, then he needs to prove he deserves one. Right now the only people who deserve a title shot are Triple H and John Cena because the losers of a title match always get a re-match.

Oh good grief, Cryme Tyme is back. Not much more I can say about that.

So Khali has decided he wants to try and intimidate Big Show, huh? Good luck, dude! Intimidating Show is not going to be easy, especially when Khali keeps walking away from him.

What is Batista’s problem? I like the man but this hatred he’s got going for Shawn Michaels is ridiculous and childish. He actually wanted Shawn to lay down at “Mania” just so Flair could win and keep wrestling? What?? I know Batista and Flair are friends but someone needs to remind Batista (and he may need this reminder over and over) that Flair is the one who talked Shawn into wrestling him and told HBK to give him “Mr. WrestleMania.” Their match wasn’t about to be a repeat of Hulk Hogan versus Kevin Nash where Nash fell down and was pinned after being poked in the chest by Hogan. It was going to be a full-on wrestling match with one man getting the victory over the other. I do like the idea of a Batista/HBK feud but wasn’t there a better way of sparking one than to have Batista act like a whiny kid?

Yes, we finally have another member of the Hart Family joining the TV world of the WWE! For those of you who didn’t already know who she was, the blonde who attacked Michelle McCool and Cherry following Michelle’s win in the Top Diva contest (like we didn’t see THAT coming) was Natalie Neidhart, the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and niece of Bret and Owen Hart. I’m beyond thrilled that she’s finally made it to onto TV and can’t wait to see how far she goes! My only problem with her being on “SmackDown” is that the ladies of this brand seem to be more T&A than actual wrestlers, and we’ve all seen where that’s gotten Victoria lately. If WWE is smart they would either move Victoria and Nattie to “Raw” so they can wrestle for the Women’s Title or bring more female wrestlers to “SD” so they have some competition.

Matt Hardy is an incredible wrestler, as evidenced by his match on “SmackDown” against MVP (and countless matches in his past), but he is also a good-hearted man! He is searching for pictures and memorabilia to give to his brother Jeff after everything Jeff owned was lost when his home burned to the ground. He is trying to bring a little joy back into the lives of Jeff and his girlfriend, and for that I think he deserves the world! (Yeah, I know, I’m a sucker for the sentimental stuff!)

I want to take this opportunity to give my own thanks and best wishes to Ric Flair as he embarks on a new path in his career working PR for the WWE. I would never be called Flair’s number one fan but I truly respect him for what he’s done for the business and for the career he’s had. This was a man who wasn’t supposed to walk again following a plane crash and yet found the strength to overcome everything he’d been through to re-enter the ring and become a 16-time champion. That’s not a small feat by any stretch of the imagination! He was a mentor and friend to many and an unbelievable entertainer to even more people around the world. Thanks, Ric! It’s been fun!

Take care, everyone, and I’ll see ya in The Jumble!
