Hello, Wrestling-Online fans, and Welcome to the Jumble!

Jeff Hardy never ceases to amaze me! There have been times when I’ve thought, “Jeff, you must be insane” (such as last Monday on “Raw”) but even during those moments he’s incredible to watch. I don’t know why he does it. Well, okay, he does it because he enjoys it. I really don’t think he could do the things he does if he wasn’t enjoying himself. So thank you, Jeff, for being such an astonishing entertainer! (Just please be careful!)

I’ve had a couple of fans ask me what I think of the recently returned Ashley Massaro. Honestly, I think she’s got some potential as a wrestler with the proper training. She may never be on the level of Victoria or Beth, but she seems to have some athletic ability that could be improved upon. Her taste in clothes is not my cup of tea, but to each her own!

Now don’t get me wrong, I like Shawn Michaels. I’ve liked the guy since I first started watching wrestling almost eleven years ago. However, last Monday I found myself calling him a whiner. Why? It was because he was upset that he had to qualify for the “Royal Rumble” match, even though he’s participated in and won the Rumble on several occasions in the past. Should that give him an automatic “in” to the match? Maybe. But would that be fair to the other wrestlers? If former Rumble participants/winners were given spots just because of their past involvement, what would happen when all of the spots were filled and the new guys wanted a shot? It seems fair to me to have qualifying matches for anyone who wants the opportunity to wrestle in the Rumble, including former participants.

Congratulations to Mr. Kennedy who just got married! Do you think the priest (or whoever happened to marry them) announced them as “Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy (dramatic pause) Kennedy!”

Any guesses on who Triple H’s mystery opponent will be next week in his quest for a Rumble spot? Considering The Big Show just signed a new contract, I’m seriously thinking it’s him.

I doubt I have to say yet again that JBL’s entrances are getting to be a little ridiculous. Pyro and balloons that just don’t seem to stop. Oh well, at least Jerry “The King” Lawler seems to be getting a kick out of all the hoopla.

I absolutely loved the mini-Rumble match that Hornswoggle was involved in! The smaller versions of Mr. Kennedy, Mankind, Batista, and especially Kane were just too cute! Okay, maybe “cute” isn’t exactly the right word, but I think you understand my meaning. Of course, Khali had to try to ruin everything (was he sent by Vince or not?) but I’m glad Finlay was there to protect Hornswoggle.

ECW’s Colin Delaney has guts. The guy has been beaten from pillar to post by the likes of Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, and now Kane, and yet he keeps coming back for more. That’s determination for you!

Why are the commentators so worried that no one will be able to get guys like Mark Henry and Big Daddy V over the top rope in the Rumble? It’s been done before! The other wrestlers simply quit beating on each other long enough to get the big guys out and then they go back to beating on each other. (Yeah, I know, the commentators have to make it sound like doom and gloom.)

I don’t know about anyone else, but I actually like Jonathan Coachman on commentary. I think he does a nice job of calling the matches while still keeping his heel character alive by “siding” with some of the heel wrestlers.

Ric Flair has never been one of my favorite wrestlers. In fact, he’s never even been one that I sort of liked. However, his segment with MVP in the “V.I.P. Lounge” was classic! It was great to hear the two of them trying to one-up the other, and each had very valid points as to why he was better than the other. In a way, MVP really is like a younger version of Flair with the nice clothes and the money and the ability to talk trash with the best of them. If Flair were to lose to MVP at the “Rumble” (which I don’t think is going to happen) it could almost be seen as a passing of the torch from the original “dirtiest player” to the potential new “dirtiest player.”

I wanted to send out special thanks to all of the fans who have written to me with their thoughts and feelings on the storyline involving Edge, Vickie, Chavo, and Rey! I’ll be revealing the results of my very informal survey in next week’s column, so stay tuned - same Jumble time, same Jumble channel! (And if you haven’t emailed me with your views on the whole thing, please do so! I’d like to hear from as many people as possible!)

That’s going to do it for me this week. Take care and I’ll see ya in The Jumble!
