Have you ever, those of you with kids, watched your kids jump on a trampoline? It's truly an amazing phenomenon. You watch them as they try to jump higher and higher, as their faces show both fear and amazement. As their friend bounces your child twice as high, you see even more excitement, and a little more fear. Then, as a parent, you come to the realization that you have no control, that anything can happen. They could hit their head on the bars, or land wrong on the springs, or better yet, just go flying off. To me, nothing scares me more than the things that can happen to my kids.... things I can do absolutely nothing to prevent, or protect them from.

Now, me personally, I'm the obnoxious over-protective father you see yelling at referees at kids' sporting events. I know, "George, what the hell are you getting at?", I hear you. Watching the Finley and Hornswoggle angle play itself out; when you think about it, just was off to me. I know every one's different, and we all handle our families differently. Some are firm on studies, got to have a kid on the honor roll. Some, well some marry off their teenage daughters in Texas. Different things are acceptable to different people. We use society and an attempt at being politically correct as a guide line most of the time; the majority seem to, at least. If we truly look hard at certain issues, can we look past our "set in stone" views, and see things from an other's perspective? Most will say yes to that, and I'd guess at least half would be full of it.

Some things that were acceptable years ago are now considered wrong to most, like marrying your cousin or spanking your child. Now, I haven't wanted to marry one of my cousins since I was about five years old. Hey, she's still hot though. Anyway, I do believe spanking is an appropriate punishment for some things. On the flip side, there are things that years ago you just didn't do; like show a couple on television in the same bed- man, we've blown by that one. Television has changed, wrestling has changed, and life has certainly changed.

There was a time in wrestling where there had to be "good guys" and "bad guys". Most say those days are long gone, and maybe they are.... or are they? There's still hope for kids looking for heroes in wrestling. John Cena is a great example. No matter how rough a crowd is to him, he plays the face well as the crowd will allow. He's been knocked for his gimmicks; a thug, a Marine, and so on. He's been thrashed by some because they feel he's the WWE's latest attempt at the "next Hulk Hogan". AS mundane and predictable as it is to some, is it really that bad? There's a magic that guys like Hogan, Sting, and yes Cena have. They can save the day. They can take everything the bad guy dishes out, come back, hulk up, whatever... and find a way to win.

I remember when I was younger, not even a kid anymore really, and my buddy Chuck and I went with my parents to see live WWF action in Pensacola. At that time, Chuck was stationed in P'cola at the Naval base, and had guard duty he next day. After about two hours of cheering and laughing, we were wore out, and it was time for the main event... Hulk Hogan versus the Earthquake (R.I.P.) in a stretcher match. It can not be overstated, the electricity in that arena was unbelievable. Two guys that were hoarse and tired were suddenly refreshed and revitalized. We cheered, we screamed, we booed, we threw paper cups and cursed our asses off... the whole deal. It really can't be put into words the feeling you get, the rush. It's truly amazing. Aside from the birth of my kids, some of the greatest moments of my life were spent ringside; either with family, friends, or best of all, my kids. That's not something that I want to change. Let our kids have their heroes, their "next Hulkster". They deserve it.

Has there ever been a major pay-per-view with three matches being focused on women? TNA has done it, and in a cage no less. The last diva match I can recall in a cage was Lita and Victoria, I think. I know, TNA is terrible, it's a joke, blah blah blah... I disagree. They continue to impress me, except with the new Shark Boy angle. That's just stupid. I like that TNA has actual story lines for its ladies. I like most of their gimmicks, like Black Machismo and Super Eric. I like that the "old farts" like Nash and Sting can still get into the ring with the youngsters and put on a decent show. To be honest, aside from the whole Shark Boy thing, I don't have much negative to say about Total Nonstop Action, except for the recent lapse of focus on the X Division title.

Man, you ever have to piss, then just lose your train of thought? Just happened to me.

There was a time when it was accepted by the masses that people could still have a great wrestling career into their fifties or so. Now, the "retire flair now" movement has gotten their wish. Flair is another one that was just as fun to see live as he is on television, maybe more. For a man whose wrestling career started before I was even alive, he can still go. If you're not impressed with his longevity and his many accomplishments, then I guess that nose you're looking down is too big to see past.

I like that Kane is finally getting some face time with some gold. I hope it lasts a few months. Kane's career has been so up and down, it's mind boggling. One day, he's getting beat by guys like MVP and Mr. Kennedy.... Kennedy, and the next he's a world champion. I know it's only the ECW title, which ranks fourth on my list of world titles. Kane, in my mind, should be a dominant force, not farce.

I like Kofi Kingston. He's like part Booker T and part Ron Killings. I hope WWE doesn't misuse him like they are with others in ECW; like Benjamin, Burke, and Dreamer.

Well, I guess the plan to phase out Torrie Wilson will be sped up just a tad now. Congratulations to Kelly Kelly, now she can be the blond bombshell of WWE.... I guess.

As far as Lockdown goes, I'm hoping Samoa Joe wins the title. It would suck if he lost, and had to come back in a mask or something. I'm pulling for Sting's team, Team Cage. I also like the theme of all matches inside the "six sides of steel". Nice. The whole show looks solid to me, should be good.
