Well, what a wild couple of weeks in wrestling. Big Show is back in, Bobby Lashley is out, Heath Ledger is gone, and Rambo is everywhere. Sometimes you just don't know where to get started, but here goes.

So what is up with Bobby Lashley? I guess he has requested his release from the WWE. Granted he's not officially gone yet, at least not until the paperwork is finished. Bobby does still have an active contract with WWE and needs to work his way out of it. Plus this is wrestling and everything is subject to change. All kinds of rumors going around on why he has decided to ask for his release. The way I see it is it doesn't matter why he is unhappy working for Vince. I don't think any employer wants to have miserable employees. It's better to see him go on good terms to save whatever good relationship that WWE has with him. Maybe Bobby will change his mind in the future and I don't think either party really wants to close the door on the Lashley/WWE relationship. He has to much to offer. Bobby is a great talent and has a great future in pro wrestling, no matter where he is at. I really hope it doesn't turn into another Brock Lesnar situation.

Speaking of Brock Lesnar, don't forget about his UFC debut next month. He will be fighting at UFC 81, Breaking Point, against Frank Mir. Brock is the biggest name to ever enter the Octagon. UFC has some of the worlds greatest MMA fighters, and some huge names. But nobody has ever come to the UFC that had already built a name for himself. Especially not someone that made a name for themselves in what is considered Sports Entertainment, and not a sport. I am really excited to watch the fight. I saw Brocks first MMA fight and it impressed the hell out of me. I'm also really excited because if Brock succeeds in the UFC I believe it will give some legitimacy to the athleticism that is really in Pro Wrestling. People think that because wrestling is choreographed that it is just all fake and that wrestlers are not athletes. When in fact, pro wrestlers are some of the most talented athletes in the world. How many other sports don't have seasons and compete all year long. NONE. I know when I used to wrestle I loved it when someone called wrestling fake. I'd tell them to stand still and I would grab a chair or whatever else was handy. When I would act like I was going to hit them they would freak out. I'd then tell them that don't worry, wrestlers do it all the time and like you said, "It's all Fake". So that means it won't hurt, right? Brock Lesnar is doing more for pro wrestling then I think he's really aware of. Plus I'm looking forward to a good fight. I do feel sorry for Frank Mir. I really see him as a sacrificial lamb. Brock has a great future in MMA, so best of luck.

Now onto Big Show. He was backstage at the last Monday Night Raw taping. He's is reportedly down to about 440 lbs and is claiming to be in better shape then when he was in WCW. I think that's great. He was training for a possible pro boxing career when he was gone. So you know that his fitness level has got to be pretty high. Maybe he can teach Khali how to wrestle. It will be nice to see a truly talented giant back in the wrestling ring. Someone to fear for his size and ability, not just his size alone. So welcome back Big Show.

Congratulations to Wisconsin. For the first time in 14 years the WWE is coming back to put on a show. On March 8th they will be coming to Oshkosh to put on a Smackdown/ECW house show. Now maybe Wisconsin can get the shows that Georgia will lose if it decides to proceed with it's new regulations.

Ok, how can I have a column without talking about the biggest thing in wrestling today. I'm talking about none other then Jeff Hardy. I think we have all seen him grow and mature as a wrestler and a person since he first came to the WWE. We were all fascinated when the Hardy Boys showed up. With their high flying and charismatic personalities. We watched Jeff go to TNA and excel all the way to the top. I think that Jeff going to TNA was the best thing for his WWE career. I know that may sound odd, but I think when he was in TNA Vince actually saw his true potential. Thankfully TNA completely misused him, like they do most of their talent. TNA brought him in, and started him out with a title run. Then they just let him slip back into being another huge name that they don't know what to do with. I think Vince saw what Jeff did in TNA and knew that Jeff is something special. Which Jeff truly is.

And speaking of TNA, I still don't know what they are doing. First off, they have already taped the Barbwire Massacre Match between Abyss and Judas Mesias. That's right, the same match that is supposed to take place on February 10th at the Against all odds PPV. They taped the match ahead of time because North Carolina, where Against all odds will be held, would not sanction the match. That's all fine and dandy, but isn't taping the match almost 3 weeks ahead of time a little ridiculous. I know that TNA is notorious for doing crap like that. Bringing in talent and taping 2 or 3 weeks of shows at one time. As a wrestler that has to suck. You train and keep your self in tip top shape for what, one day of work every 2 weeks or so. Even once a week. Can you imagine working in any field and only working one day a week. But your still supposed to work at the same level as people who do the same job Monday through Friday. It's just not right, and when it comes to wrestling you can see it in the product. As much as I like watching wrestling, Impact is the only wrestling show that I don't mind seeing what's on the other channel. Like tonight, I think I would rather watch Vince McMahon on Celebrity Apprentice then TNA Impact. Quality is what really counts in wrestling and it is the one thing that TNA is lacking the most.

Now, I did think that Global Impact was one of the best shows that TNA has had in quite awhile. It was great to watch the wrestlers just being themselves. Tomko really impressed the hell out of me. I've never had a chance to see Tomko as a person, he was always just Christian's goon. I think that he earned a lot of respect just as a person to all wrestling fans that saw Global Impact.

As far as in ring wrestling goes, the best thing TNA has going for it is their women's division. I actually look forward to watching ODB and Awesome Kong every week. The girls on TNA definitely show a lot more ring ability compared to the WWE Divas. So congrats TNA, you are finally outdoing WWE in at least one category.

Now did anyone catch Kurt Angle on Pros vs. Joes? Boy was he stiff with the Joes. I'm not sure if he felt he has something to prove, or if he really is just a Asshole. But that is definitely how he came across. It was fun to watch, but it made me lose a lot of respect for Kurt as a person. He really needs to get over himself.

Now I want to vent a little about something that we have been seeing a lot of on every wrestling and MMA show for the last couple of weeks. That is the movie Rambo. Now I have nothing against the movie itself. My problem is with Rambo or should I say Sly Stallone. I have had problems with him playing the character of Rambo since the first movie. How dare a man play a role of a great warrior when in real life he is nothing more then a coward. I'm talking about when Sly was 18 years old. The Vietnam war was going on, and America was all up in Arms. Instead of standing up and supporting his country Stallone ran away and hid in Switzerland. If you want to be a coward, that's fine. But don't try to convince everyone that your some mighty hero, when history speaks for itself. He is a coward and that's all he will ever be in my eyes. No if's, and's, or but's about it.

And lastly, I'm sure everyone has heard of the death of Heath Ledger. I wonder if the new Batman Movie, where Heath plays the Joker, will end up being a cult classic. Similar to Brandon Lee and his movie "The Crow". Heath drew a lot of controversy by starring in the movie Brokeback Mountain. As far as I'm concerned it takes a great actor to portrait something that he is not. Whether you like Heath or not, 28 is way to young to leave this world. Plus a parent should never have to bury their children. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend. If you have any questions, comments, or bitches please feel free to drop me a line. Until Next time, Stay Cool.
