On Wednesday March 28, Community Bowling Centers held a WrestleMania 23 party at Skore Lanes in Taylor. 279 bowlers attented this party. This was just part of the benefits to particapating in the WrestleMania bowling leagues. You could only bowl in these leagues at the 22 different Community Bowling Centers. If you bowled in the full 22 week season, you could attend the WrestleMania 23 party and you'd get one $100 ticket to WrestleMania 23 at Ford Field.
There were a bunch of energetic folks hanging out there tonight. Maybe the announcement of having five WWE Superstars boasted their energy level. Or maybe it was the pizza slices. It was 8:57 p.m. when the announcement was made that they had arrived. Representing the WWE were: "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, Mickie James, Super Crazy, The Miz and Tommy Dreamer.
After thanking the masses for being apart of this WrestleMania experience, it was time to lace 'em up and let them roll.
Out of these five Superstars, the only one with some bowling skill was Dreamer. That makes sense. He talked about going bowling quite a few times with former WWE Superstar and Dearborn resident Rhino. So, when he wasn't signing autographs or posing for pictures, Dreamer was out there throwing strikes.
The joker of this party was "The Miz". This lefthanded jobronie was showboating like he was Pete Weber. Problem is that PDW never used a pink 13lbs. bowling ball. The Miz needs to man up. He deserves to be a WWE Superstar as much as Curly Joe deserved to be one of the Three Stooges. If The Miz shows up Saturday and wants somebody to step to him, I'd bring my 16lbs balls and tear him a new one. This is "The D". Detroit is the bowling capital of the world for a reason. We do not play when it comes to bowling.
PERIOD!
Jimmy Hart and Super Crazy was half bad bowlers. They were decent. The only person who didn't throw a shot was Mickie James. According to a WWE representative, she wasn't feeling well. Maybe on having a match on the biggest card of the year made her sick to her stomach. Oh, well.
All in all, it wasn't a bad party. The bowlers had a great time meeting these WWE Superstars. They posed for pics, signed everything from bowling pins to towels, and greeted everybody with nothing but smiles and happy faces.
On Saturday March 31, there will be another WrestleMania party at Skore Lanes in Taylor starting at 1 p.m. This one is to benefit the Make a Wish foundation. Fans can bowl with the ECW Champion Bobby Lashley during this VIP party. Spots are still available. For more information, contact Skore Lanes at (313) 291-6220. Thursday night is the THQ Superstar Challenge at the Gem Theatre. I'll see you there.
