Vince Russo says he reached out to Vince McMahon to help

Former WWE and WCW creative head writer Vince Russo noted in his latest blog that he has reached out to Vince McMahon to help with the product.

“Even though I know that is wrong on so many levels…it’s what my heart told me to do. In the past, that olive branch would have been motivated by the need of money – in order to support my family – but, I can tell you that isn’t the case now,” Russo wrote.

Russo said that seeing the wrestling audience drop week after week “with no ray of light anywhere in sight” effects him personally especially when he thinks of his former boss, Vince McMahon.

“Look, I’d be lying to you if I told you that I didn’t love Vince, because I do. And, with all the slandering done of my name over the years by his company, you probably think I’m out of my mind, and…maybe I am,” Russo added.

Russo said that he’ll always want to help McMahon and if he doesn’t want his help, that is understandable as well. Russo wrote that he always keeps an eye on WWE and knows what it once was and can see what it has turned into now.

After departing WWE in 1999 with fellow writer Ed Ferrera and moving to WCW, Russo was hired back by WWE in 2002 but left before he could even start working there. He later joined TNA for a couple of stints before leaving completely in 2014.
