Unsealed FBI Hogan documents tell a different story

The FBI records in the Hulk Hogan vs Gawker lawsuit have been unsealed which could wreck havoc for Hogan and his legal team.

Just over 1,800 pages in total were unsealed, all of which now reside online in two PDF documents at http://www.2dca.org/Clerk/2D15-5044/15-5044.shtml.

Perhaps the most important, or one of the most important, piece of information is the testimony of Bubba “The Love Sponge” where he admitted that Hogan knew that he was being recorded having sex with his then-wife and even Heather knew. Hogan reached an out of court settlement agreement with Bubba for just $5,000. Apart form the sum, Bubba agreed not to testify against Hogan and Gawker fought hard to have him on the stand but the judge ultimately refused to honor the request.

This completely contradicts what Hogan said, having previously testified that he did not know that he was being recorded. The whole case was based off the fact that Hogan supposedly did not know that he was being filmed and that’s why he feels his privacy was violated.

A text messages log between Hulk Hogan and Bubba “The Love Sponge” which the FBI confiscated also show that Hogan and his legal team were aware of more than one tape being recorded. “We know there’s more than one tape out there and a one that has several racial slurs were told. I have a PPV and I am not waiting for anymore surprises because we know there is a lot more coming,” Hogan wrote.

In another document, Hogan’s attorney says that the primary concern of Hogan was that he made “deeply racist comments” and wanted to pursue the FBI investigation. The lawsuit was mainly not because of the sex in the tape but rather the conversation that went along, fully knowing how more damaging the words will be than the actual sex footage.

It’s unclear at this point if the jury will have access to the unsealed documents because if they do, Gawker and its lawyers will be very, very happy.
