Kurt Angle’s brother David being charged with murdering his wife

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that David Angle, the brother of TNA Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, was arrested and is being held at Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment on a homicide charge, county police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

The charge against the 62 year old Angle comes after his 57 year old wife was found dead at their home on early Sunday morning.

”Due to the situation Kurt would appreciate if you can honor his family’s request for privacy at his difficult time,” Kurt’s manager David Hawk told the newspaper.

In an interview with police, David Angle said his wife kept bothering him at around 3AM to drink in the living room and after refusing her offer, it escalated into a deadly argument.

After his wife tried to kick him, he “grabbed both of her arms, pulled her off the couch, put his foot on her chest and then pulled,” the complaint said. He told police he couldn’t recall how long he did that but said “it was not for minutes.”

He told police she became unconscious and he tried unsuccessfully to revive her before calling 911.

An autopsy will be held by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
