Jim Ross gives additional details on what happened with his late wife Jan

In his new podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross revealed some more information about the passing of his wife Jan, who died a week ago after she was struck by a car while riding her scooter.

Ross said that Jan was a minute away from their garage when the driver of the car, a 17-year-old, didn’t see her and ran her over. JR said that he will never forget the image of seeing his wife in that state in the emergency room at the Oklahoma OU Medical Center and the doctors were very honest with him about her chances of survival.

“They didn’t want to be so negative, but they said it’s going to be challenging,” Ross said. He signed the papers so his wife could undergo surgery on Monday night to try and remove some of her skull so her swelling brain could have room. He said that docs told him that even if she manages to survive, his wife would have never be the same. “We did all we could do but it just wasn’t enough,” he added.

Her almost 90-year-old father, brother and sister all flew in from California just in time to see her “legally alive.” JR said that he will have the body cremated and placed in a Steelers urn, which he will keep in his home. He said that he plans to do a memorial service at some point although he’s got to think about that first because at the moment he is “on autopilot.”
