The man who had a big helping hand in shaping up Sting to be The Icon and The Franchise, Eric Bischoff, congratulated the former WCW champion in a message on Twitter.
“Congrats to @sting, @WWE. I am very happy and proud to see Sting on a platform he deserves. Great for @WWE and wrestling fans world wide,” Bischoff wrote yesterday.
Sting spent most of his career working for Eric Bischoff, first in WCW, and then in TNA, proving to be a loyal “soldier” in the Monday night war and after WCW closed up shop. Sting and Ric Flair share the honor of having wrestled the last match ever on WCW Nitro.
