Lilian Garcia gives notice, leaving at the end of the year

- RAW ring announcer Lilian Garcia has given her notice and will be leaving the WWE once her contract expires at the end of this year.

"It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me," Garcia said on her blog at liliangarcia.com.

"The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously," she added.

Garcia made her debut in August 1999 and has been the ring announcer for RAW ever since.

A couple of weeks ago WWE issued an open position for a young female announcer who can sing and speculation kicked in that Garcia was indeed leaving the company after ten long years.

This sucks. I really like Lilian Garcia. Whoever comes in her place have big, big shoes to fill.

She is the best. I will miss her. She is one of the reasons RAW is great. Lucky guy that will marry her. I still think that she is the best Diva in WWE.

What about the other two men? And we all know Howard Finkel's been retired. Okay, I wonder if it's a good idea to bring Jeremy Borash out of TNA to be ring announcer for a WWE brand?

I thought that on another discussion that WWE is looking for another woman that can sing?

Remember in the 1990's WWE had a female announcer and she always wore a suite and tie. She was pretty good, but not comparable to Lillian Garcia.

I thought that her final speech was great. Lot of tears but she kept her composure. I thought that she really let our her feelings in this speech.

It was a very, very nice move by the WWE. I am also interested in who will be taking her place, guess I got to turn into RAW next week. Haha.
