Mr Kennedy released from his WWE contract

Postby newswire on 05-29-2009 07:11 PM

- Mr. Kennedy - real name Ken Anderson - has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract. WWE.COM had the following statement: "World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Mr. Kennedy as of today, May 29, 2009. WWE wishes Ken the best in all future endeavors."

Kennedy joined WWE in 2005 and was part of the Smackdown brand until 2007. He then was drafted to RAW for a year and then back to Smackdown where he suffered a dislocated shoulder which kept him out of action for nine months.

Kennedy was again drafted to RAW in this year's draft and returned on television this past Monday night where he was the surprise final member of the Lakers team with John Cena, Batista, MVP and Jerry "The King" Lawler.

In his first match back Kennedy suffered a wrist injruy after taking an RKO.

During his WWE stint, Kennedy won the US title once and won the Money In The Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 23.

Released because he's injury prone?

I've heard that he had words with Randy Orton after RAW. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but he wouldn't be the first person Orton got fired.

This is absolute horseshit. Kennedy is one of, if not the most entertaining superstar RAW has. Yes, the guy is injury prone but so what? He's a hell of a performer. WWE made a big mistake getting rid of him and I hope it bites WWE in the ass.

Something must've happened for sure. The fact that he's injury prone didn't help matters and I wouldn't be surprised if they released him because of that (others have been let go for that reason) but I don't think that was the only cause. I mean the guy was in the main event on RAW on Monday so I'm sure they had some things lined up for him.

With people like Mark Henry on the roster why would WWE want to get rid of a guy like Kennedy? Orton must have McMahon's ear otherwise Kennedy wouldn't have been let go. Orton gets caught for smoking pot at an event and he gets a two month suspension while Kennedy gets fired for having an injury problem? Total horseshit.

With his Facebook video and the argument backstage, I have a feeling there is more to his release then we know.

I will miss Mr. Kennedy. He has been one of my favorites. If WWE got rid of Orton I would not miss him. He is not as entertaining as Mr. Kennedy. If you think about it, Orton is really boring.

by looking at the video on his facebook, WWE is lying threw there teeth. why is WWE protecting Orton? he has been nothing but a pain in everyones ass. i would really laugh my ass off if Orton has a problem passing his wellness test. we will see how WWE sticks behind him then.his character is getting stale, it was good for a while. but the time is now to change things up.

I don't know why WWE is protecting Orton, he's done more harm then good since he's broke into the business.
