Ric Flair's son Reid arrested....again!

Postby newswire on 04-28-2009 02:12 PM

- Ric Flair's son Reid was arrested on Sunday according to WSOC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, NC., after Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers found heroin in his car when the 21 year old was pulled over. The aspiring young wrestler is now facing felony charges of heroin possession as well as driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license and possession of drug paraphernalia. This was Flair's third trip to the booking counter as he keeps increasing his rap sheet.

Again?! You mean this guy's been arrested before for similiar charges?! This is sounding like the Von Erichs back in the 80's when they would get into trouble but mysteriously the charges would dissapear! Sounds like Ric has been pulling some strings until now.

What an idiot though. I know that's judging and all but hasn't he seen enough guys in his father's business to know that drugs and wrestling NEVER mix?!

this kid is a train wreck, and will end up dead before he is 25 yr old. i know he is under a lot of pressure wth ric flair being your dad. but he is burning all the bridges that are built for him.

Hate to say it but Mr. Winkie, you said it all! If a turn around doesn't happen soon, you'll be hearing about Reid Flair getting killed or someone else killed.

As I said earlier, he of all people should know how drugs can destroy! Look at the Von Erichs! Look at Gino Hernandez! Look at "Gentleman" Chris Adams! Look at Eddie Guerrero (though Eddie did clean up his life during his last years thank God)! Look at Chris Benoit (though I now think that case deserves a second look)! Look at "Test" and countless others not only in wrestling but in other sport mediums too! Though never actually proven, just the mention of drugs or steriods to your name can wreck a reputation like Barry Bonds (baseball) or Lance Armstrong (cycling) or Ken Shamrock (MMA fighter)! I don't care if its Oxycodon, steriods, heroin or what your drug is, none of that crap is good for you in the long term.

At least the guys I named either had or still has a career, Reid probably won't ever get a shot unless he makes a huge turnaround! And, as you said Mr. Winkie, he's burning all the bridges that his dad built for him! Sad because aside from this stuff, I've heard he's actually a nice kid. Better than Hulk Hogan's son Nick (but that doesn't take much)!

It's the third time he's arrested. He's like a wilder version of Nick Bollea LOL.

But yeah this is a truly sad case. I'm sure his dad is not thrilled about it.

And we all thought Nick "Hogan" Bollea was the major fuck-up. He didn't get popped for smack though! What the hell is wrong with these kids? They have the world by the balls and step on their dick every time......is this the "tortured artist effect" I've heard about? I sure wouldn't speak of Reid in the same breath as I would Hemingway, Van Gogh, et al. I recall seeing Reid on TV when he was about 5 and he was a cute kid with the world in front of him. He was, I understand, an excellent junior wrestler and won many awards. I even remember Ric getting in hot water for missing a show (maybe it was a TV taping) to attend one of Reid's matches. I never expected to read something like this, and I'm very disappointed as I'm sure Naitch is as well.

Yeah, I was just reading about that. Sad. Only hope that drugs had nothing to do with it. Seeing his size, I'd bet weight more than drugs.

My main memories was his AWA stint with "Pretty Boy" Doug Sommers and their clashes with The Rockers over the AWA tag team belts. That was the last great tag team feud in the AWA to me. May he rest in peace.

I remember that as well Ratfink. That's kind of what led the famous Flair/Bischoff feud in WCW.

By the way, off the subject, I did go back and re-read stuff that was printed around the time of the Chris Benoit murder/suicide. While I am pretty convinced he did it, I am not 100% convinced anymore, mainly because there was so much that was assumed by police and barely any testing done aside from testing him for steriods (which we all know came back clean on that score). Also, if bottles of wine were opened and yet no alcohol was found in his nor his families' bodies, that should've raised eyebrows too! I would've tested it for fingerprints, saliva, etc. These days, that can be done. That way, all doubt could've been erased. If he's guilty, so be it but if not, then don't be lazy and take the cheap way out. Find the person/persons that did it.

Anyway, back to Reid, these kids do have it easy these days and just royally screw it up or think that by complaining, it'll get done. Well, sometimes you have to grow up, shut up, suck it up and handle your business. No one is going to give you anything. You have to work for it and take it. If they still block you after doing that, then go somewhere else. I would only complain if I had a chance of winning because while there are legal remedies, those "remedies" are expensive as hell! LOL! Better off just finding a new job.

I would like to see Reid Flair Vs. Nick Hogan in the ring. Actually I really just want to see Nick get his ass handed to him.

Yeah, but that would be a mismatch! Messed up as he is, Reid is actually a trained amature wrestler while Nick is just trained to do.....NOTHING! Sorry but I'll bet even high, Reid rips Nick a new one. On his best day, Nick doesn't even have his dad's skills or talent of now and Hulk is old as dirt!

There is something about that kid, I just don't like him.

I hope Reid straightens out. I haven't seen him wrestle, but he has to have something good in him. I like seeing wrestling staying in the family.

If by that kid you mean Nick Hogan, then I agree. I remember the first time I saw him on Hogan Knows Best, he just seemed like a little arrogant P.O.S.! I know that's not nice to say about someone but he really is. And this was before the whole auto wreck incident. He just had that kind of personality that made you really want to give him the kind of ass-whippin' that Hogan and his soon to be ex wife should've gave him a long time ago instead of trying to build a moat around Brooke (who won't win any Einstein awards either BUT at least she has some sense).

I hope someone straightens out Reid or that he wakes himself up and gets help.
