Shane McMahon announces shocking resignation from WWE

In a blockbuster announcement that came out of nowhere, Shane McMahon, the Executive Vice President of Global Media for World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that he tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2010.

The announcement was made via a press release which was sent today.

"It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures," Shane said.

Throughout his WWE tenure, Shane held several responsibilities within the company, starting in his teenage years including stocking the company’s warehouse and then eventually becoming a member of the ring crew, a referee and a ring announcer.

WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano passes away

WWE Hall of Famer Captain Lou Albano passed away earlier today at the age of 76.

Albano made his WWWF debut in the late 60s and went on to manage some of the greatest wrestling Superstars to ever grace the squared circle including Pat Patterson, Don Muraco, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, The British Bulldogs, the Wild Samoans and others.

In the mid 80s, Albano was thrown into the Rock 'N' Wrestling and entered into an angle with Cyndi Lauper after appearing in four of her music videos including the one for the popular "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" song.

In 2005, Albano suffered a massive heart attack and his health continued to deteriorate ever since. He was taken under hospice care and the Wrestlers Rescue organization was collecting funds to cover his medical expenses.

Albano was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996 and last year he released his autobiography titled "Often Imitated, Never Duplicated" with the foreword written by his friend Cy...

He does well where ever he is. He is dedicated and he works hard. He is a good heel and a good face. I would like to see King Booker again. He might have to be introduced by Jerry "The King" Lawler. I think Lawler is going to be the Memphis Mayor, but I am not sure if he got elected.

This will make some things interesting with in both organizations. What will happen to the Tag Team titles? MEM? How will WWE accept Booker T? Will he be Booker T or King Booker?

Booker T looking for a TNA exit and a WWE return

Rumors are flying around that Booker T will be leaving TNA once his contract is up next month.

Jason Powell from ProWrestling.net reported that Booker refused to job against Matt Morgan during the iMPACT! television tapings earlier this week, a match which was supposed to air during the three hour iMPACT! next week.

According to Powell, the former five time WCW champ told his friends while on the overseas TNA tour that he'll be heading back to WWE once he's free to do so.

Currently Booker T holds the TNA tag team titles with his partner Scott Steiner.

Last week Booker took himself out from the main event during the show in Switzerland after Scott Steiner ripped the Swiss flag and fans went crazy throwing chairs and bottles in the ring.

He joined TNA in November 2007 along with his wife Sharmell.

Smackdown and several TV programs advertise Popeye's fried chicken. The black woman saying that the chicken is Lousiana receipe. All of the Popeye's chicken business that I have been to in Virginia for the past 8 years are all owned by Indians or people from the Middle East. This does not match that woman's receipe.

Smackdown Decade Party was Fantastic ;with all of the food and drinks. It was typpical people getting others drunk. Teddy Long got drunk. i liked that tray of shots of Irish Whisky for Finley. WOW. The girls looked delicious, each and evrfy one of them.

Vickey Guererro coming back to Smackdown as a Heel. She said that she is going to Manage Drew McIntire the Special person picked by Vince McMahan as a future Champion.

I have missed her and her crying screachy and screaming voice. I think that she puts a lot of color in Smackdown.

Kofi Kingston was announced as being from Uganda, West Africa during the Smackdown Decade Special.

I remember in one of the topics it was discussed if he was Jamacian or Africian. Was this announcement a change in his country of origin or was it a mistakie?

The Hart's (I forgot their name) are going strong. Bret Hart would be partof that group. They still wear the Pink and Black wrestling gear. Wouldn't that be awesome if he could be a manager and bring back the wrestling managers?

I totally agree with you. Seeing these wrestlers week in and week out doing nothing but comedy and get embarrassed doesn't bring much creditably to the sport.

For the past week there has been a rumor about Bret Hart appearing on WWE television in the near future as the relationship between the two sides seem to be the healthiest ever since that unforgettable night at the Survivor Series in 1997.

In a recent radio interview, Smackdown commentator Jim Ross said that Hart is now open to the idea of doing what he always said he wouldn't - appear inside a WWE ring for a WWE show. Ross added that Hart is not looking for a full time gig but maybe a guest appearance here and there.

Hart last appeared on WWE TV at the Hall of Fame ceremony in 2006 where he was inducted however he did not go to WrestleMania the next day as all the Hall of Famers do for their yearly appearance.

Vince McMahon sort of "broke the ice" after Hart suffered a stroke and called him multiple times at the hospital as the road of recovery between the two kicked off.

Good Wrestlers in Comedy Acts

Chavo Guerrero is a very good wrestler. So is Masters. Why does WWE have them in a comedy act with Santino and Hornswoggle? Week after week Chavo is there. I know that he is getting a good pay check but they can let him do what he does best...wrestle. Masters needs a push also.

You are right though editor, the WWE does carry a lot of baggage with it. However, I do think they have cleaned up a lot the past couple years.
