Surviving Survivor

Posted by Colin on December 16th, 2007

Wow. I haven’t written something in a while. I guess you can call me lazy.

With nothing interesting to watch, I decided to start watching Survivor from the first season. I started to watch season 15 this year simply because there was a WWE Diva on it. I’ve never seen the show before for some reason. I’ve heard about it obviously but never bothered to check it out until season 15. I liked what I saw, I think the whole concept of the game is great. I don’t think I would survive though simply because when I’m hungry, I need to eat. Period. Going there would be a great way to lose weight but surviving 40 days or so on rice or stupid shit like that, it doesn’t cut it for me.

Anyway, I knew who won the first season of Survivor because the guy received a lot of press for not paying his taxes and eventually ended up in jail. I was thinking of either starting to watch from #14 and go backwards or start from #1 even though I knew who won. So anyway I started from #1.

So far I’ve watched the first three seasons and today just started season 4. I didn’t know who won season 2 so I was really into the surprise factor but I got spoiled season 3 while reading a review of the latest episode of season 15. I mean, who the fuck would wanna write about the winner of season 3 in a season 15 episode review? Jeeeez. I was pissed. And not to mention that after reading the Wikipedia entry of season 3, they said who won season number whatever in the Amazon. Fuckers. I hate reading spoilers of shows I am watching. But I’m going to watch regardless.

I think I’m a Survivor addict now. Seriously. I can watch like 8 episodes in a row without moving from my chair.

Season 15 finale is on tonight so first thing I’m doing tomorrow morning as soon as I wake up is download it. Hopefully I won’t run into any kind of spoilers.

This video is priceless. Jenna Bush was on the Ellen show, Ellen asks her if it’s easy to call her dad whenever she wants and she said yes so Ellen called her bluff and gave her a phone to call her President daddy. LOL. Hilarious check it out.

Jack Bauer checks himself into jail!

Posted by Colin on December 6th, 2007

Jack Bauer has checked himself into jail. Yep, Keifer Sutherland will spend the next 48 days in lock-up and will be celebrating his birthday, Christmas and New Year in an 8′ x 10′ cell. Isn’t that great or what? And to top that, he will be performing laundry and help preparing food for other inmates! Hah! I bet my ass he will learn how to make bombs from salami sandwiches and milk. Hihihihihi.

“The fact that he’s a celebrity, he checked that at the door when he checked in,” the Chief said. Here’s the booking photo from TMZ….doesn’t he look like he’s going to KILL someone? Torture is his specialty. Hey Kiefer, don’t drop any soaps while you’re there!

Writers’ strike is starting to suck now

Posted by Colin on December 5th, 2007

I’m really starting to hate the writers strike now. All the TV shows I watch are at the end of their already-produced episodes so from next week on, I have really nothing to see. God knows when they’re going to reach an agreement and by the time they do, to start production again, filming, post production etc…ahhhh we’re looking like in mid next year! What a tragedy! LOL. I have to find a new hobby now. Dammit.

I love how the US dollar is crap right now compared to other currencies, especially ours. It makes my life easier when buying stuff from the US. So for our holiday we’re paying everything ASAP to benefit from this great deal. Last week we booked - and paid - our hotel in Miami Beach so everything is ready. All we have left are a couple of tours in Miami and Disney World tickets. So far I spent over $3,500 in this holiday and I’m not even there YET! But we have a sweet hotel in the middle of south Miami Beach. And you know Miami Beach + Spring = SPRING BREAK! We’ll do our best not to get arrested. LOL.

Can you believe I’m still kinda sick from f’n LAST WEEK? I thought about taking a sick day or two but the idiot in me went to work anyway. Mind you, I’m feeling much better than last week but it’s still kinda annoying and I’m not at 100% yet. Hopefully I’ll be great for the weekend. I spent last weekend home and while it was alright, I would’ve preferred to be somewhere else having a beer…or a whiskey…or something.

Sick and it sucks!

Posted by Colin on November 28th, 2007

Going back to work after five days off was a bit of a bummer. Not that I hate going to work. I like it, but you know, I got used to waking up at 9AM rather than 6:30AM and just watch TV all day long being a lazy ass. The bad thing is that Monday I started to feel sick - and still am - and I didn’t wanna call in sick after almost a week away. So I had to bite it and go anyway. Having the flu sucks, it keeps you up all night long. And maybe I got 2 hours of sleep last night. So you can imagine zombie Colin at 6:30 in the morning. Not a pretty sight.

Saturday was great going to paintball again. I missed going there in Summer. But we had to take a break. It gets so hot here that you won’t stand running around in the sun. So we took a four month break and played on Saturday. We were fourteen people and our opponents were sixteen others who I don’t even know. Needless to say, we kicked some major ass and won obviously. Two and a half hours of running and firing at people. Great stuff. And my (paint)balls hurt as fuck too. Frozen is the way to go for maximum impact. Shhhh.

Seems like in May of 2008 I’m off to Rome, Italy for a week on work. There’s this digital video conference course taking place over a period of five days and the big wigs approved my travel. The choice was either Italy, Taiwan, South Africa or Chile. I asked for Taiwan or South Africa but the suggestion got shot down faster than a soldier in Iraq. Since work is paying, I’m going to the closest location. Oh well. LOL. I’ve never been to Rome anyway so I’m sure it will be nice to visit the city.

I’m thankful for….

Posted by Colin on November 20th, 2007

Ah it’s Thanksgiving week. What am I thankful for? I’m thankful for having Thursday off, Friday off and Monday off which means I have a pretty long ass weekend. LOL. You see since this year I didn’t have my usual holiday I had tons of days off. We get 24 days off, plus I get the Maltese AND American holidays too and that’s a lot of days off my friends. So since I didn’t leave my country this year I had more days off so to speak. I only take Mondays out usually because I hate Mondays. But when an opportunity like this comes along where you can take Friday as well and enjoy a five-day break you cannot pass it on, no? I don’t take any leave at Christmas time. Christmas time at work is like walking into a cemetery. No one is there, which makes your job a hell lot more easier. So why take days off at that time?

Anyway, after like a four month break we’re back to playing paintball on Saturday. The idiot double booked our time slot so we’re ending up playing against fifteen other people. That’s fine. Us vs Them. They’re so going to lose. Most of us have our own weapons, balls and equipment. My balls (paint balls, that is) have been frozen for the past four months so you know how much they’re gonna hurt upon impact? A LOT. It’s gonna sting like a fucking bitch. And I’m gonna love it. And I don’t know my opponents so it’s not like I’m going to feel bad about hurting them. LOL. It’s been four months since I’ve shot my gun, so I might be a bit rusty. I hope I regain my accuracy quick. Wait, did I just say accuracy? LOL. I’m joking. I even have a fuckin sight on my gun and still I can’t aim that good. It’s useless to have a great weapon when the one operating it sucks ass. And I guess I somewhat fall in that category. I’m not bad mind you, but I could be much better. Practice, my friends, practice.

I finally switched my Internet service provider. Having DSL service sucked. I mean I had unlimited data transfer (for real) and that was the only thing good about it. But the disconnections and slow speed was starting to piss me off. So now I’m back on cable Internet with 30gb of download limit per month and unmetered downloads at night. 30gb is okay, plus the extra shit I need I download at night when it doesn’t count towards the limit. And I enjoy speeds of 500k/s+ so I’m happy about it.

Spent the last weekend home. Apart from being kinda broke, it was raining like crazy so it was good to stay inside. This fucking car is driving me insane and the money I’m spending on it (repairs, service etc) is not helping my finances. Bitch. But Saturday, I’m goin’ out no matter what!
